“Uncle Ron” and Cincinnati Refugees

Wednesday January 31, 2018

CARV Member Ron Ison (Togo ’84 – ’87) was featured recently in an article on the Peace Corps Community for Refugees website.  Ron has worked extensively and intensively with refugees for the last fifteen years.  He was originally inspired by a CARV project to help Sudanese arrivals in Cincinnati and has never stopped his hands-on efforts to help.  “I am a direct service provider to refugees every day,” says Ron.  “I have had a refugee from somewhere in the world living in my house the past 15 years. Sometimes as many as seven at a time. I have taken in many asylees as well.”

Like CARV, Peace Corps for Refugees is an affiliate of the National Peace Corps Association.  Here is a link to the article
