Mike is a seasoned global advocate whose influence spans various fields and continents. As a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, former AmeriCorps VISTA, Fulbright alum, ghostwriter, and co-creator of the impactful social media platform Humans of Kiribati, his journey is a testament to his commitment to social change and environmental justice.
In 2014, Mike earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh, a testament to his academic prowess and dedication to addressing the climate crisis. Over the past 24 years, he has tirelessly worked at the forefront, collaborating with governments, international media, non-profit organizations, and individuals worldwide to elevate global consciousness and action on climate issues for those on the frontlines.
Mike serves as the advocacy director for CARV, on the Board of Directors for the National Peace Corps Association and is actively engaged in academia at the University of Cincinnati. In his spare time, he channels his expertise into collaborating with international humanitarian and climate-focused organizations, students, media, filmmakers, parliamentarians, and congressional representatives, contributing to formulating and passing climate-related legislation, thus leaving an indelible mark on the fight against climate change.
