Maple Sugaring with Our New Americans

Monday April 24, 2017

On President’s Day, a group of CARV members and their kids joined our Syrian family at Middleton-Mills Park in Covington  for a truly American experience. We learned how pioneers and Native Americans tapped maple trees, syrup and sugar. We drank sweet sap directly from the trees and participated in the whole process. The Syrian kids wondered if there were elephants and tigers in the Kenton County woods and everyone had a terrific time.
