January 2018 Gathering Brings Out a Crowd

Tuesday January 16, 2018

Nearly fifty CARV members and friends took a break from shoveling snow to attend the January Gathering.  They were rewarded by a very informative and beautiful presentation by Samantha Rhodes (Ethiopia ’14 – ’16), assisted by Ben Jenkins (Ethiopia ’15 – ’17), who drove down from  Dayton to join us.  We also met Carlos Jean-Baptiste in his new role as Peace Corps Recruiter for our region.  Carlos has been active in the Peace Corps for years, having served in Zambia and Kenya as a Volunteer in ’08 – ’09, in a Peace Corps Response Program in Haiti and as a Coverdell Fellow at UC. We were happy to see Evan Gay (Vanuatu ’07 – ’09), a long-distance CARV member who was in from DC.

The  potluck was as delicious, varied and international as ever and we thank Mindy Wise (Honduras ’91 – ’93 for hosting the hordes.  Check out the Photos by clicking on the tab at the top of the page.
