Take Action to Increase Peace Corps Funding
In the House of Representatives, a bipartisan “Dear Colleague” letter is now circulating, requesting a 10 percent, $40 million, increase in funding for the Peace Corps. Over the next week to 10 days, your Congressman/woman will be invited to sign this letter.
In 2018, a similar letter was signed by 180 lawmakers, and this year, our goal is to have 185 signatures. If you want Peace Corps to get a raise, it’s time to tell your member of Congress!
At my February 28 meeting with staff of the House Appropriations Committee during our Capitol Hill National Day of Action, I heard firsthand that the high number of signatures on the letter bolsters the Committee’s case to increase funding for the Peace Corps.
